Hewitt did a study of 437 companies on the impact of performance management on organizational success. Their definition included: setting expectations, coaching and feedback, reviewing and rewarding. Another company, Kepner-Tregoe says that what' s missing from this definition is "no ongoing use of consequences to encourage desired desired behavior and to discourage unwanted behavior." They claim most systems don't combine performance analysis with performance management. Do you agree? What is your interest in the subject?
